Frequently Asked Questions - Advertisers

On this webpage, you will find all the information needed to sign up as an Advertiser in the platform and to create, optimize, and track your campaign's performance.

GETTING STARTED

EasyPlatform is an interactive platform for managing online advertisements. With its help you can publish ads in multiple websites in real time. You can advertise your product/service or brand in front of your potential clients and significantly increase your online reach and conversions.

EasyPlatform works with a multitude of websites with vast reach. You can review the full list of active websites in the platform. Your advertisements will be shown only in the sites you have chosen in your campaign settings.

As an advertiser in EasyPlatform you only pay for the actual clicks or impressions depending on the price model you use. There are no subscription taxes, additional fees, or commissions! You only have to deposit a sum/budget for advertising in your profile account. You can make a payment in the menu Billing » Payments » New Payment and the sum will be in your profile after the successful transaction. The registration itself is absolutely free.

After you have made a successful payment in the platform, you may start your campaigns. The sums which are spent by them are withdrawn from your profile balance and cannot exceed the payment you have made.

You can run campaigns based on one of the available pricing models, depending on your goals, creative, and budget spend:

  • Cost per Click: you are charged once a user initiates a click on your ad. All impressions (times your ad was shown) are free. You can start a CPC campaign from the Network menu after logging into your account.
  • Cost per Action: this type of pricing model is available only for certain types of interactive banner ads. The idea is that a certain action is charged which a user makes on the ad itself. Which action is being charged exactly depends on the concept and interactivity of the banner. A CPA campaign can be started from the Network menu.
  • Cost per Mille: this pricing model is per 1000 impressions of your ad. CPM campaigns are listen in the Deals menu and can be started only with a request to our team. Deals are placement-based campaigns in certain websites. Contact us for details and prices.
You can also use the platform as an Ad Serving solution and serve ads outside the EasyPlatform website network or on your own website if you are a Publisher. Reach out to us for assistance and details regarding our ad serving solution. Contact our team for more information and cooperation.

You can make a payment of your choice but no less than 50 EUR or 50 USD. The payment is made in the menu Billing » Payments and via the button New Payment.

You can choose from two types of payment methods - Credit Card or Wire Transfer.

If you choose Credit Card, please prepare your card in front of you to be able to enter the necessary credentials.

If you choose Wire Transfer, an automatic bank order will be issued in order to be able to make the payment easier. You can find it under the label "Wire Transfer" in the list with payments, which you can find in the Billing » Payments menu.

After the successful transaction the payment will be approved by our admins and the sum will be added to your profile. An electronic invoice will be issued and available for download in menu Billing » Invoices.

AD CAMPAIGNS

In order for your ads to begin displaying you have to create an ad campaign. This is where you set all of the targeting options and create/upload the ads. The settings are:

  • Label of the campaign - give a distinctive name for your campaign in order to differentiate the campaign, its targeting, and purpose, for example: November 2020 - Hats - Banners - Mobile"
  • Website targeting - you can choose where your ads will be shown before the campaign even starts. You can filter or block some sites according to their category, content, or audience by your choice or campaign goals.
  • Daily and Campaign budget - you can define the maximum daily budget the campaign may spend. Besides this, you can define the overall campaign budget. This is extremely useful when you have more than one active campaign and you want to distribute the budget among them. In this way, every campaign will spend exactly as much as you have defined.
There are additional targeting options by your choice:
  • Device Targeting - Mobile devices, Tablets and Desktop
  • OS Targeting - Windows, Apple, Android, Linux
  • ISP Targeting
  • Day Parting
  • Geo Targeting
  • Targeting by user audience
  • Targeting by interests
After you have edited the campaign settings, you have to save the campaign and the settings by pressing the Save button and later upload or create your ads. The other option is to upload/create them right away by pressing the button Save and add new creative.

The campaigns have three types of Delivery in the platform: Waiting, Online, Delivered.

  • Waiting – the campaign is automatically paused because of a certain reason. To find out what exactly, hover with your mouse pointer above the question mark next to the label "Waiting".
  • Running – all the criteria is met. The campaign is online and is being shown to users at the current moment.
  • Delivered - your campaign has reached the budget limit or the time period you have defined and has been paused automatically. It has met your requirements and has been Delivered successfully.

You can control whether your campaign is running or paused by the Status of the campaign. It is either Enabled or Disabled.
  • Enabled - you want the campaign to show online
  • Disabled - you do NOT want the campaign to show online
To change the Status of the campaign you only have to click on it and edit it by your choice. The changes are applied instantly and your campaign is modified in just a second.

Of course! You may edit it at any moment. Just after a few minutes after the edit, all the changes will be online. You just have to click on the label of the campaign to edit its settings.

When you start a new campaign the platform will suggest a default PPC. You can edit this price - the minimum is 0.02 EUR. The practical approach is to change the price according to the daily budget - if it is met before the end of the day, you can lower the price even more. And the contrary - if the campaign is struggling to gather the needed impressions and clicks, the price is too low and you should increase it to generate enough impressions and therefore clicks.

The higher the price per click is, the bigger the chance to win more impressions while competing with the other campaigns in the platform. If you use too many targeting options - the defined audience is very small and therefore the price is really important in order to win the impression and show your ads to the users that matter the most. For example, when you target a specific city, only users using desktops and only between 10:00 and 20:00 and even only users in the certain audience in our Targeting by Interest, the users are fewer and you have to beat the other campaigns in order to show your ads to them.

A specificity of the platform is that the price per click is not dynamic. This price is not the max-price and the platform decides how much every click costs. All the clicks in the platform will be at the price you have entered in the campaign.

Yes, the platform rates the campaigns using Ad Score. It is formed by two factors - CTR (Click-Through-Ratio) and PPC (Price-Per-Click).

The Ad Score of each ad campaign is variable based on historical data. It is calculated for every ad tag in the platform which means that one campaign may have bigger priority in one site and lower in other and even different in one site but different placements. This algorithm helps your campaign be more visible on websites where the users are interested!

UTM parameters are used to send data to any analytic software (like Google Analytics). UTM parameters are specific tags that you can add to your links which allow you to track the source of your website traffic. When setting up your ad in EasyPlatform we automatically provide you with recommended UTM parameters. You will find them right below the field in which you fill in your URL so you can easily copy them and attach them to your link.

The default UTM parameters are:

utm_source=easyplatform - defines traffic source

utm_medium=cpc - defines campaign type

utm_content={{adunit}} - gives information about the ad on which the user has clicked

utm_term={{publisherurl}} - gives information about the website from which the user has come from

utm_campaign={{campaignid}} - provides the unique campaign id

UTM parameters are added to the end of the link, after a '?' mark. Here is an example link with added UTMs: https://easyplatform.com/?utm_source=easyplatform&utm_medium=cpc&utm_content={{adunit}}&utm_term={{publisherurl}}&utm_campaign={{campaignid}}

As you can see we provide some dynamic parameters (macros) with which you can send even more detailed info from your ads to your analytical software. Here is the full list of dynamic URL macros we support:

{{adunit}} - dynamically fills in the ad on which the user has clicked

{{publisherurl}} - dynamically fills in the website from which the user has come

{{campaignid}} - dynamically fills in the unique EasyPlatform campaign ID

{{device}} - dynamically fills in the device which the user has used

{{cost}} - dynamically fills in the price per click

Our Moderators always add the default UTM parameters to all links when reviewing uploaded ads by Advertisers. However, we still recommend that you personally add all UTM parameters which you would like to use, especially if you want to use custom ones.

AD TARGETING OPTIONS

Yes. Here at EasyPlatform, you can take advantage of our adverse targeting tools which include targeting by Time period (by weekdays and hour-parting), Location, Device, Operating system, Interest, and Demographic. You can change your campaign anytime by clicking on the name of your campaign or from the Settings tab under any campaign.

You can choose at exactly what time to show your ads to users - based on week days and hour-parting. You can use these targeting options to start or stop your campaign during a certain time period. You can also set a start and end date and hour within a 5 minute precision.

We offer you IP-based targeting which ensures that your campaign is shown to only the users of your desired location. We use data from the leading company MaxMind™ which ensures precise targeting according to your needs.

You can choose on what devices your ads are shown on - Desktop, Tablet, Mobile, Other. You can also precise your targeting by choosing a certain operating system only - Windows, iOS, Android, or other. This is very beneficial if your ads are based on a certain mobile app.

You can target users based on their Internet Service Provider (ISP). Internet service is generally specific for different regions and different countries, and you can use it to target different audiences in a specific country, based on their provider.

Based on anonymous cookie data we can track and analyze the online behavior of our users. We create different user profiles based on their gender and their interests. By using this data you can target your ads to only a certain gender for example or interest group. We have over 25 available interest categories!

Our Audience Center will allow you to track events on your website, build segments based on users’ activity, track conversions with post-view and post-click technology. By doing so you can remind users of your product, help them finish their order, or only target entirely new users!

You can use two types of data for your audience:

  1. Click and interaction data from your own campaigns - this way you can target users who have made (or haven't) the desired action.
  2. You can place our targeting pixel code on your website which tracks a variety of user actions on your website (such as page view, add to cart, purchase, scroll, etc.), and use this data to create user audiences. You can visit our detailed article on how to implement and use our pixel code correctly >>>.

The first step is to enable the Audience Center from your account - navigate to the Audience menu and click on Activate Audience Center. After this you can begin creating your custom user audiences from the Create audience button in the same tab.

AD FORMATS

You may choose between Responsive Ads and Banner Ads. They have different looks and different effect on the users:

Responsive Ads are easy to create contextual ads with a title, description, and up to 5 images which rotate in a carousel. They are a really good choice for presenting certain offers and products. They contain more text which is useful when trying to give the users more information about the characteristics and advantages of the product. The images are with two sizes for optimal results: 400x300px and 600x314px. When there is more than one image in an ad, they rotate and the users see all of them and can navigate through them. This way you can show several products simultaneously, or several images of the same product.

Banners are interactive ads which can be dynamic HTML5 banners or can be static graphic images (.jpg, .gif, .png). This powerful ad format in our portfolio is effective and widely used because of its combination of price, reach and potential. It may be used for brand image campaigns as well as product ads. The ad sizes are according to IAB Standards: 300х250px, 336x280, 300х600px, 336x600, 600x220, 600x400, 970x250px, 728х90px, 728x250. The maximum weight of the banners is 150 KB.

You can create new responsive ads by clicking the button Create new native ad in the Native ads menu or just click New ad under the campaign name to which you want to create your ads. We recommend the second way because it is easier.

  • Enter the title of your ad (max 30 characters).
  • Enter the description of your ad (max 80 characters).
  • Enter the final landing page link, where you want to redirect the users who click on the ad.
  • The images for the ad can be uploaded from your computer; selected from already uploaded images in other campaigns, or selected from our Gallery. In our Gallery you can find high-quality, free to use Stock images.
We require images of two sizes – one with minimum size of 400x300px with 4:3 ratio and one with maximum size of 600x314px with 1:1,91 ratio. This way your ad will have the best representation in different placements and optimal visibility.

You can do so by clicking on the link Add new banner under the name of your campaign.

  • Choose the type of banner you are uploading - HTML5 banner or static image (.jpg, .gif or.png)
  • If you have chosen HTML5 banner, please select the size of the banner
  • Upload it by clicking on the Browse button
  • Enter the final landing page link, where you want to redirect the users who click on the ad
  • In the Preview module, located at the lower part of the window, you will see your banner preview.

If you want to stand out from the crowd and engage users online with your brand then HTML5 banner ads are the perfect solution for you. Reach out to us for banner creation and creative concepts. You can also have a look at some of our successful HTML5 banner examples in our creative portfolio.

You can track a variety of events which happen on your website from the platform, such as Page View, Lead, Add to Cart, Purchase, and many more, including custom events created by you. Once you implement our pixel code it will start sending data about events on your website to the platform. Make sure you set up everything correctly so the data in the platform is accurate. In the Reports menu, you can see data regarding conversions. You can see reports based on campaigns, ads, websites, devices, etc., so you can better understand the conversion data and use it to optimize your campaigns.

Apart from counting how many conversions have been made, the platform also lets you see if the conversion took place after an ad impression, after an ad interaction (for HTML5 banner ads), or after an ad click. This way you have detailed data about the conversion process. The column names in the reports provide the time periods that are taken into account when reporting conversions.

Yes, you can create a custom user audience based on events from your website and only show your ads to that particular audience. After activating the Audience Center, you can create an audience from the New audience button in the Audience menu. You can set in detail which users exactly to include (or exclude) in the audience using our advanced settings.Read our detailed article on how to successfully create a custom user audience here>>.

USING THE PLATFORM AS AN AD SERVING SOLUTION

The first step is to register in the platform as an Advertiser and then activate the Publisher module as well. You can do so from the main menu, Advertiser / Publisher button, listed right below your account name. Here are the main steps to start an ad serving campaign via the platform:

On the Publisher side:

  1. You need to have at least one active website on which to run your ads on. You can add one from the Websites menu - button Add new website.
  2. Create an Ad Unit from the Ad Units menu - you need to select if you will be using it for serving our ad inventory or your own. For ad serving - select the second option Direct Deals or Ad Serving.
  3. Place the code of the ad unit on the website.

On the Advertiser side:

  1. Create an Ad Serving campaign from the Ad Serving menu - button Create new campaign.
  2. Set up the campaign regarding your preference - select total number of impressions to serve, daily impressions, time period, targeting options. Select the website and ad unit you want to serve your ads on.
  3. After campaign setup is ready, you need to upload the banner ads you want to serve. Click on the Add banner ad button located under the campaign or from the Banner ads menu. Note that the uploaded banner ad needs to be the same size as the ad unit you have placed on the website.
We are available for assistance if you require help with our ad serving solution!

Value CPM is an indicative price per 1000 impressions (CPM). This price is not charged from your profile. It is only used as a virtual price with which the ad serving campaign bids against the other active campaigns.

Pricing is based on 1000 served impressions (CPM). The amount is deducted from your account balance once the ad serving campaign is activated. There is no monthly or yearly fee for ad serving - you just deposit an amount in your Advertiser account and pay in advance regarding the volume of impressions you want to serve. Reach out to us for CPM ad serving pricing.
